Roles and Invites

Admin and Member roles, and inviting people to a team.

Teams belong to your liveworkspace account, so a team is the same in every liveworkspace app, livediagram included. You make and run them in livediagram's Explorer: New Team at the bottom of the sidebar's Spaces group makes one, and a team's card, at the top of its view (or behind Members in the editor's Explorer panel), runs it. Everything here needs a signed-in account.

Admin and Member

The person who creates a team is its first Admin. On the team's card, Admins can:

  • rename the team (Edit Team on its ⋯ menu),
  • invite people by email,
  • change a member's role,
  • remove a member or withdraw an invite,
  • turn on a join link (Invite by Link),
  • delete the team.

Members can see the team and its member list, work in the shared library, and leave the team.

A team always keeps an Admin: the last Admin can't step down or leave while others remain. Deleting a team gives its canvases back to their owners (see Team Shared Canvases).

Invite by Link gives a join link that works for 7 days: anyone signed in who opens it joins as a Member. Copy it, make a New Link (the old one stops working), or Turn Off the link.

Inviting by email

Open your team in the Explorer, enter the person's email address at the foot of its card, choose Member or Admin, and press Invite.

They get an email from liveworkspace with a link to the Explorer's Invites, where the invitation waits. They don't need an account yet: it waits until they sign up with that address. Signed in to livediagram, they also see it under Invites in the Explorer sidebar, with a count.

They press Accept (which opens the team) or Decline on the invitation's card in Invites. Accepting takes a signed-in account whose verified email address is the one invited. The email's own decline link works without an account.

Once they've joined, the team shows up in livediagram within a few minutes, usually at once.
